Fakhrul urges govt for talks before polls schedule BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir talking to reporters

DHAKA: BNP secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir again urged the government to hold discussions with political parties about the polls-time government.

Announcing the election schedule without any discussion on this issue will not be accepted, he added.

The senior BNP leader made the remarks to reporters after paying tribute to party founder Ziaur Rahman’s burial place in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Wednesday (May 2).

Fakhrul along with other senior BNP leaders placed floral wreath at Ziaur Rahman’s burial place marking the 39th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Jatyatabadi Sramik Dal.

Fakhrul also claimed that the current Election commission is biased towards the ruling party and therefore incapable of holding a free and fair election.
