KHAGRACHHARI: Parbatya Bengali Chhatra Parishad called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Khagrachhari for Sunday (May 6), protesting the killing of Sajib Hawlader in Naniarchar upazila and also demanding rescue of three abducted youths.
The announcement came from a protest meeting held at Khagrachhari district branch of Parbatya Bengali Chhatra Parishad on Saturday (May 5).
“There is no news about the abducted youths yet. The administration is silent. Meanwhile, a Bengali youth has been murdered by terrorists. If it fails to rescue three youths by Sunday, 72-hour long hartal will be observed,” the speakers warned.
Prior to the meeting, a procession was brought out from Shapla Chattar of the town. The procession went around the city, and ended in the same place where it began from.
District president of the organization, Mayin Uddin, vice-president Md Moin Uddin, general secretary SM Masum Rana, joint general secretary Zayedul Islam were present at the meeting.
