DHAKA: Convicted BNP chief Khaleda Zia asked her lawyers why she has not been given bail, the lawyers told reporters after paying a visit to her at the old central jail in old parts of the capital city Saturday (May 5).
In reply, the lawyers told her she may get bail on May 8.
A team of five lawyers--Abdur Rezak Khan, Advocate AJ Mohammad Ali, Advocate Khondaker Mahbub Hossain, Advocate Joynul Abedin, and Barrister Mahabubuddin Khokon visited Khaleda at the jail in the afternoon.
After the meet, the lawyers briefed reporters at the jail gate.
“I didn’t do anything wrong, so why I’m not getting bail?,” Khaleda asked them as quoted by Joynul.
She was then said that there is a possibility to get bail on May 8 in all the cases filed against her including Zia Orphanage Trust Case, added Joynul.
However, he further said that Khaleda’s physical condition is worsening and she needs improvised treatment.
