DHAKA: Family members of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia met with her in Dhaka central jail on Monday afternoon (May 14).

The five family members are- Khaleda’s elder brother Shamim Iskandar and his son Avik Iskandar, niece Shahina Zaman, granddaughter Raida Islam (daughter of Saiful Islam Duke), nephew MD Mamum.

According to jail sources, they have arrived at the jail gate in the afternoon and were given permission to enter around 4:40pm.

On February 8, a Dhaka court sentenced five years jail to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in a graft case. Following the verdict, she was taken to old central jail in Dhaka’s Nizamuddin area.
