DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia filed two more appeals with the High Court on Tuesday (May 22), seeking bail in other two cases.
On behalf of the convicted BNP Chairperson, her lawyers filed the pleas, two days after filing three other bail pleas on Sunday (May 20).
Permission for affidavit has been taken from the court of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim, said the lawyers.
Senior lawyer Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and AJ Mohammad Ali moved for Khaleda Zia while Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik moved for the state, at the courtroom.
The two cases were filed separately in 2016 and 2017, with Tejgaon Police Station and Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, over patronizing the war crimes accused and celebrating a fake birthday.
On Sunday, the lawyers of Khaleda Zia filed three appeals with the High Court seeking her bail in three separate cases. Of the cases, two were filed in Cumilla on charge of plotting to carry out subversive acts and another in Narail on charge of defamation.
