DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday (June 4) extended bail until June 28 for BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
Judge Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman of Dhaka-5 Special Judge Court also fixed the same day for next hearing of arguments.
Besides, when another accused Ziaul Islam Munna pleaded for permission to go to Umrah Hajj, the court granted it but subject to government's permission.
The last hearing date was fixed on May 10. However, Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Advocate Sanaullah Mia pleaded for her bail extension. He also pleaded for deferring the date of argument hearing, in the same case.
The court fixed this day for hearing of the arguments as well as extended her bail.
Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the graft case against Khaleda and three others with Tejgaon police station on August 8, 2010 for embezzling Tk3.15 crore from Zia Charitable Trust.
