CHATTOGRAM: A district court sent a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader to jail after rejecting his bail petition on Monday (June 4).

Judge Osman Gani of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Chattogram gave order against   former general secretary Nurul Azim Rony of Chattogram city unit, quoting Nirmalendu Bikash Chakrabarty, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police. 

Nurul Azim Rony is standing trial in a case filed with Chakaria Police Station for beating the principal of Science College, and extortion, Nirmalendu Bikash Chakrabarty added.

Rony had been on bail for 4 months in this case, before appearing in court with bail petition today, court sources said.
