DHAKA: The High Court adjourned the BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s bail petition till Sunday (June 10) in a sabotage case filed in Cumilla.
The HC bench of Justice Md Shawkat Hossain and Justice Abu Taher Md. Saifur Rahman gave the order on Thursday (June 7).
Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain stood for Khaleda Zia while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam accompanied by A K M Amin Uddin stood for the state.
The case was filed in connection with vandalizing vehicles in Chouddagram upazila of Cumilla on February 3, 2015.
However, on February 8, a Dhaka court sentenced five years imprisonment to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia orphanage Trust graft case. She was sent to Dhaka central jail following the verdict.
