DHAKA: Claiming that the proposed budget for 2018-19 fiscal is not people-oriented, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said people are frustrated to realize that the largest ever budget is just a mere bluff and impossible to implement.
The senior BNP leader made the remarks at a press conference in party’s Naya Paltan office on Friday (June 8).
Rizvi said this government is not a people’s government and the members of the parliaments are not elected by people’s vote. So a people-friendly budget is not expected from them. The proposed budget won’t meet people’s expectation. The budget has been ballooned intentionally ahead of the election.
He also said this budget was proposed to make fool out of people as all the options for corruptions are kept open in it.
Rizvi also criticized the budget saying there no specific directions in it for creating new employment. There is no environment for domestic and foreign investment in country.
Commodity price will rise high crushing the lower income and middle class people. They claim themselves as friend of digitization but tax has been imposed on internet, facebook, google and youtube, Rizvi added.
