Quota reform leader Luma gets bail

DHAKA: A Dhaka court granted bail to Lutfur Nahar Luma, a quota reform leader, in a case filed under Information and Communication Technology (ICT) act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Ghosh passed the order after lawyer Jayedur Rahman had pleaded for the bail on Monday (August 27).

Lutfur Nahar Luma, 21, daughter of Abdul Kuddus, hailing from Baikhola village of Kashiani upazila in Gopalganj District, is a student of Eden College.

Police arrested Luma from Khidrachapri area of Belkuchi upazila under Sirajganj district on August 15, where she was reported to be hiding.

The case, however, was filed under ICT act during quota reform movement on April 8.
