MYMENSINGH: A case was filed over the murder of a Mymensingh metropolitan unit Jubo League leader Sazzad Alam Sheikh Azad alias Azad.

Police took the charge into cognizance early Saturday (September 1), upon direction from the High Court.

25 persons including the district metropolitan unit general secretary Mohit Ur Rahman Shanto, were accused in the case filed with Kotwali Police Station.

Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Assailants had shot, hacked and slaughtered Sazzad to death in Akua Nazirbari area of Mymensingh sadar upazila on July 31.

The deceased’s wife Dilruba Akter Dilu, as a plaintiff, filed the case.
