DHAKA: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has announced that he would not contest the upcoming parliamentary polls.

“Probably, I would join the election-time government as I won’t contest polls anymore”

Muhith made the confirmation while talking to the reporters after attending a program of Grameen Bank at the secretariat Thursday (September 6).

“Yes, I have finalized the decision,” he added.

However, the minister said he would work for his brother former ambassador Abdul Momen Chowdhury who will contest the national polls to be held in late December.
