DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged evil powers of putting efforts to assassinate their convicted party chief Khaleda Zia by keeping her deprived of proper treatment.

“BNP chairperson is very ill. We are not only concerned but shocked, being learned about the extent of her illness narrated by Khaleda Zia’s family members after they paid a visit to her Thursday,” he said.

“The government is not initiating any measure, we emphasized the matter repeatedly though,” he added.

Fakhrul was addressing a press briefing at BNP’s Nayapaltan party office, Friday (September 7) morning. 

“We are concerned about her (Khaleda Zia) life considering the condition Khaleda Zia is in now,” he added.

However, the senior BNP leader also alleged the government of becoming desperate to punish the BNP chairperson.
