JESSORE: Gano Forum president and acclaimed lawyer Dr. Kamal Hossain said national unity is a demand of the time now to achieve meaningful changes of political and social system.

People must take the responsibility to protect the democracy, sovereignty and independence and there is option to unite for it, he said. 

Dr Kamal made the remarks to reporters at the VIP lounge of Jessore press club on Tuesday morning (Sep 18).

Earlier on September 15, Dr Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Jukto Front and Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya have formally announced the journey of a “greater national unity”. 

They have also placed some demands and proposals to ensure a free, fair parliamentary election.
