DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday (September 18) launched a search at Hotel Sarina located in the capitals’ Banani, owned by BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.

An ACC team, lead by Director Dr Kazi Shafiqul Islam, operated the search beginning from 10am.

ACC Deputy-Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The search was carried out based on information about illegal wealth possessed by Khasru, he said.

Khasru was earlier summoned by the ACC twice asking him to be appeared before it to be quizzed on charge of money laundering and illegal dealings.

Khasru afterwards filed a writ plea with the High Court challenging the ACC order which was rejected on Sept 16.
