DHAKA: Jatiya Party lawmaker Nurul Islam Omar has been made the opposition chief whip for the 10th parliament.

He is replacing deceased Md Tajul Islam.

Nurul Islam Omar was nominated the opposition chief whip upon request from opposition party leader Rowshan Ershad, said sources.

On Tuesday (Sept 19), Rowshan Ershad had sent a letter to Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury regarding this. 

The speaker has given verbal consent to make Nurul Islam Omar opposition chief whip, Public Relations officer to Rowshan Ershad Mamun Hasan told Banglanews.
