DHAKA: Gano Forum president Dr. Kamal and BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir have denounced the police action on a procession led by Left Democratic Alliance (LDA).
They made the denouncement in a statement sent to media on Thursday night (Sep 20).
Earlier in the day, police foiled an attempt of the Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) to lay siege to the office of the Election Commission and also charged batons on the activists.
In the statement, BNP leader Fakhrul said people have lost their citizen rights by the oppression of the Awami League government. It seems that only AL-men have rights in this country. Police are not only foiling the rallies of BNP and other opposition parties but also thwarting peaceful human chain or even indoor programs.
Expressing strong condemnation about the attack, Fakhrul said, “The attack on Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) procession proves that the government wants to cling to power by force and planning a January-5-like election.”
On the other hand, Gano Forum president Dr. Kamal Hoosain and secretary general Mostafa Mohsin Montu also send a statement to media condemning the attack on left alliance program.
