Khaleda’s bail hearing in Cumilla murder case deferred

CUMILLA: A district court on Sunday (Sept 30) deferred the hearing on a bail petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a murder case filed over death of 8 people following an arson attack on a moving bus in Cumilla.

Acting judge Muhammad Jalaluddin of Cumilla Senior Judicial Magistrate court-5 fixed October 3 for the hearing after the prosecution filed a petition seeking time.

Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Advocate Kaimul Haque Rinku confirmed the matter.

On February 3 in 2015, eight people were killed and several others injured in a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chouddagram of Cumilla district during the BNP-led alliance’s movement. Two cases were filed against Khaleda Zia over the incident.
