NARSINGDI: Two persons were killed as a clash erupted among two factions of the ruling party in a charland of Narsingdi sadar upazila Thursday (Oct 4) morning.

The deceased are—Anwar Ali, 45 and Motalib Mia, 40, both residents of Bogarpot village under Karimpur union.

Police and local sources said the followers of Karimpur union parishad ward-9 member also ward unit Awami League vice president Bacchu Mia and the followers of the ward unit Awami League president Kamal Sarker engaged in the clash.

They used arrows in the clash that broke out over establishing supremacy in the area. 

Anwar died on the spot and at least 11 others were injured.

Of them, Motalib succumbed to his injuries while was being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) accompanying three others.

The rests were admitted to Narsingdi sadar hospital.

Policemen were sent to the spot. Preparations are underway to file a case over the incident, Narsingdi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syeduzzaman told Banglanews.
