DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) imposed a ban on foreign travels for BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and his wife Tahera Alam.
A letter, signed by ACC director Kazi Shafiqul Alam, was sent to the Special Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Special Branch (SB) on Thursday (Oct 4) asking to take necessary steps regarding the matter.
According to the letter, ACC is investigating allegations of various corruptions and accumulation of illegal wealth by the former minister and former president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce Amir Khasru and his wife.
According to trusted sources, the concerned accused persons are trying to leave country and it is necessary to impose foreign travel ban on them for conducting proper investigation of the allegations against them.
Based on specific allegations, ACC started to investigate corruption allegations against Amir Khasru on August 13.
