DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is being taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for treatment. 

A private car of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has entered the gate of old central jail after 2:30pm Saturday (Oct 6).

Earlier in the day, DMP brought a black Pajero SUV to take Khaleda to hospital. However, the transport vehicle has been changed later as Khaleda could not ascend to the car due to height. 

A RAB was also seen coming out of the jail gate to carry Khaleda Zia’s mattress to BSMMU.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement has been restricted on roads around old central jail and law enforcing members and vehicles were seen to take position at important points as Khaleda Zia is being transferred to BSMMU from jail.
