MYMENSINGH: BNP leader Shah Nurul Kabir Shahin was arrested in a case filed under the Special Power Act on Monday (October 8). 

The former Member of Parliament (MP) from Mymensingh-8 constituency (Ishwarganj) was picked up from his village residence in Kakonhati area of Ishwarganj upazila of the district around 2 am.

Shaheen created a panic among people by vandalizing vehicles and blasting explosives in Maizbagh area following BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's verdict on February 8 in 2018, Ishwarganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Ahmed Kabir told Banglanews.

He will be sent to jail via court, OC added.
