DHAKA: Doctors of the BSMMU medical board have identified the physical problems of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia who was shifted to the hospital from jail.
Medical board’s chief physician and BSMMU Medicine Department former chairman professor Dr. Md Abdul Jalil Chowdhury came up with the development at a press conference on Monday noon (October 8).
He said Khaleda Zia is suffering from rheumatoid arthritis that causes pain in joints and affects mobility of hands. Currently, Khaleda Zia’s treatment is unchanged but if everything goes right, her main treatment will begin two weeks from now.
Earlier on Sunday (Oct 7), medical board members examined Khaleda Zia’s health condition and also her previous medical records for over an hour.
On Saturday afternoon (Oct 6), Khaleda Zia was transferred to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from old central jail in Nazimuddin road where she had been serving her five year jail sentence in Zia Orphanage Trust from February 8.
