Khaleda’s treatment begins at BSMMU

DHAKA: The treatment of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has begun at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

BSMMU additional Dr. Nazmul Karim informed the reporters about the development on Wednesday afternoon (October 10).

He said doctors of the medical board examined Khaleda Zia at noon and started treatment. However he did not mention specifics about the treatment.

Earlier on Oct 6, Khaleda Zia was admitted to BSMMU after being transferred from old central jail where she had been serving her 5-year jail sentence in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

She is being kept in Room 611 of the hospital cabin block. A new five-member medical board was formed for her treatment and the board has examined her health problems several times since then.
