DHAKA:  BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the court which delivered its verdict in the August 21 grenade attack case is the exact manifestation of ruling Awami League’s political speech. 

Mirza Fakhrul came up with the reaction while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Friday (October 12).

“The court’s observation in its verdict in the case terming August 21 grenade attack as ‘state-sponsored attack.’ Like the countrymen, we got stunned by such news,” he also said.

A faction of media is making their vain efforts to instill unfounded impressions about BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in the minds of people centering the verdict, Mirza Fakhrul said.

He also said that Tarique Rahman was given penalty in the politically-motivated cases designed by the ruling party. So there is no question about his resignation.
