DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader suspected BNP Acting Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman as the helmer of recently formed political alliance Oikyo Jote.
“Who will run the Oikyo? BNP is the main party. Who runs BNP as their chairperson is now in jail? Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman. It (the alliance) will be running upon the direction of his finger,” he said.
“Tarique Rahman will administer the alliance as well as he is leading the party (BNP) from London,” added Quader.
Obaidul Quder, also the minister for road transport & bridges, was talking to the reporters after opening a new office of BRTA in Banani, Dhaka, Tuesday (Oct 16) morning.
The minister further said Oikyo Jote leader Dr Kamal Hossain won’t feel any objection to accept leadership of a life-term convict like Tarique as his main intention is ousting Sheikh Hasina from power.
