DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday (Oct 18) said his party doesn’t want election commissioner Mahbub Talukder to resign, despite of his ‘dissimilar opinion’ as an EC official.

“There are several election commissioners. Of them, any commissioner may have different views. Mahbub Talukder too has it. Why we should ask him to resign, over this. We don’t want him to resign,” he said. 

Obaidul Quader, also the minister for road, transport & bridges, was talking to the reporters after holding a meeting with Indian High Commissioner Harsha Vardhan Shringla, at Setu Bhaban in Dhaka.
