DHAKA: Jatiya Oikyo Front held a meeting with foreign diplomats to present its 7-point demand to government and 11 goals ahead of 11th parliamentary election.
Leader of the Oikyo Front sat with the diplomats of different countries at Lakeshore hotel in city’s Banani area in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon (October 18).
According to sources, the meeting was held for one hour. BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir delivered the welcome speech and later alliance leader Dr. Kamal Hossain briefed diplomats.
Ambassador/High Commissioner and other representatives of more than 25 countries including Canada, Germany, France, Japan, United Kingdom, USA, Australia, Norway, Switzerland, European Union, China, Qatar, Vietnam, Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey were present in the meeting. However, the Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla did not attend the meeting.
Jatiya Oikyo Front convener Dr. Kamal Hossain, Barrister Moinul Hossain, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barrister Jamir Uddin Sarkar, Mirza Abbas among other leaders were present in the meeting.
