SYLHET: The newly-formed political alliance Jatiya Oikyafront has finally been permitted to hold its rally in Sylhet on October 24.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) gave the permission on 14 conditions.
SMP’s additional commissioner Paritosh Ghosh confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Sunday evening (October 21).
Regarding permission not to be given for October 23, Paritosh Ghosh said: “Permission was given for another rally of that place, that’s why permission was not given on that date.”
However, Jatiya Oikyafront earlier failed to get permission for the rally two times.
Later on Sunday, Sylhet district BNP general secretary Ali Ahmed filed a writ petition with the High Court for not allowing Jatiya Oikyafront to hold the rally in Sylhet.
