CHATTOGRAM: The Jatiya Oikya Front, the newly-formed political alliance, has been granted permission to hold a rally in Chattogram city on Saturday (October 27).
Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) allowed us to hold the rally in front of city BNP party office instead of Laldighi Maidan, Shahdat Hossain, president of BNP Chattogram city unit, told Banglanews.
Jatiya Oikya Front was given permission to hold the rally on conditions, Md Abdul Warish Khan, deputy commissioner of CMP, told Banglanews.
The rally will have to end by 5:00 pm, CMP said.
The alliance held it first-ever rally in Sylhet on October 24.
BNP is one of the parties of Jatiya Oikya Front formed on October 13.
It includes Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, ASM Abdur Rab's Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, and Mahmudur Rahman Manna's Nagorik Oikya.
The alliance was formed with the demands of a national election under a neutral government after dissolution of parliament and release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.
