DHAKA: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said they will not join the upcoming national election under the Awami League led government.

“BNP led by its chairperson Khaleda Zia would participate in the election run by a neutral government,’ he said.

Rizvi said all the elections held under the present government were ‘tainted by terrorism’ not ‘festive’.  

He was addressing a press conference at the BNP central party office in Nayapaltan around 11:30am Saturday (Oct 27).

Rizvi demanded withdrawal of all the “politically-motivated cases”, party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release from jail and realization of seven-point demand of Jatiya Oikyo Front.
