Oikyafront breaches electoral code of conduct: Quader Dua Mahfil

DHAKA:  Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said Jatiya Oikyafront has breached electoral code of conduct by giving anti-election speech during rally in Rajshahi city on Friday (November 9).

Obaidul Quader told reporters after attending a Dua Mahfil arranged for recovery from illness of Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam in city’s Bangabandhu Avenue are on Friday (November 9).

Obaidul Quader said, “They (Jatiya Oikyafront) did not abide by the conditions, on which Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda granted them permission to hold rallies. They spoke of movement, giving anti-election speech.”

“Can they hold such a rally in this situation right after announcement of election schedule? CEC outlined electoral code of conduct during his address to the nation, is this not breach of electoral code of conduct? I keep this question to CEC,” he said
