RAJSHAHI:   BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called upon supporters and activists to wage movements being united to restore democracy.

The senior BNP leader said this during rally of Jatiya Oikyafront in Rajshahi city on Friday (November 9).

Addressing his speech to party men, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Do you want to bring Tarique Rahman back to country? Do you want to establish democracy? Then, you have to stage movement being united. Democracy is to be restored through movement. 

The rally formally began around 2:30 pm.

BNP chairperson’s adviser Mizanur Rahman Minu presided over the rally.

Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabir Kader Siddiqui and Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna attended the rally

Oikyafront leader also Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain did not attend the rally as he is suffering from physical illness.

Oikyafront was formed on October 13.          

JOF includes Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, ASM Abdur Rab's Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Mahmudur Rahman Manna's Nagorik Oikya, Bangabir Kader Siddique-led Krishak Sramik Janata League, and BNP

Kader Siddique joined the alliance on Monday (November 5).

The alliance was formed with the demands of a national election under a neutral government after dissolution of parliament and release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

The alliance has held rallies in Sylhet, Dhaka, and Chattogram.
