DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said BNP will definitely contest the 11th national election under the Sheikh Hasina led government and there is no doubt about it.  

Obaidul Quader, also the minister for road transport & bridges, was doing a media brief at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s political office in Dhanmondi, in the morning.

“(I) don’t know why festivity isn’t being observed in the opposition camp. But, there is no doubt, no confusion that BNP is joining the election. We are hopeful,” he said. 

He further said the ruling party may seek time from Election Commission (EC) for announcing whether they are participating in the polls as an alliance:

“The equation of polarization is ongoing. We will seek time”.

Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif and Jahangir Kabir Nanak, among others, were present.
