BNP-led 20-party to decide on polls participation in 2 days

DHAKA: The 20-party alliance led by BNP will decide within two days whether it will participate in the 11th parliamentary election.

One of the alliance partners Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Cornel (Rtd) Oli Ahmed confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Saturday night (Nov 10).

Earlier in the afternoon, the alliance leaders held a meeting in BNP chairperson’s Gulshan political office.

Mentioning that none of the seven-point demand has been realized, Cornel (Rtd) Oli Ahmed said we are urging the government again to accept the demands for a free, fair and acceptable election.

The Election commission has said it must be informed by a letter within Nov 11 if any alliance wants to participate in polls. In response to a question in this regard, Oli Ahmed said they will send the letters to EC in two ways so that the deadline is extended.

Apart from LDP president Cornel (Rtd) Oli Ahmed, Jamaat leader Mawlana Abdul Halim, Kolyan Party chairman Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, BJP chairman Andalib Rahman Partha, Bangladesh Labour Party chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran, NDP chairman Abdul Mokaddim and other leaders of the alliance were present at the meeting.
