DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said they will even change their decision regarding participation in 11th parliamentary polls depending on polls environment.
The senior BNP leader told reporters in city’s Nayapaltan party office on Monday (November 12).
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “There is no polls atmosphere at all. We’ll be compelled to review our decision if fair atmosphere for election is not ensured.”
Following start of nomination paper sale, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said,” We have participated in elections in a democratic way for the sake of people. Our participation is to oust the autocratic government (Awami League). Our participation in polls is a part of our movement. Through such activities, we’ll release Khaleda Zia, restore democracy. I took the form myself for Khaleda Zia.”
Afterwards, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir bought nomination papers for him to contest the elections from Thakurgaon-1 constituency.
