DHAKA:  Mentioning that the government is making fun of democracy and election, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that there is no consistency between government’s speech and commitment regarding arrest in political cases.

The BNP leader said it at a press briefing in city’s Nayapaltan party office on Tuesday (November 13).

He alleged that around 100 party leaders and activists have been arrested countrywide from Monday morning (November 12) to night, adding that there is no provision for the political case in law.

The directives issued from Police Headquarters that no arrest is to be made in political cases, but it is not being abided by, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi also expressed his grievance.
