DHAKA:  Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikyafront will visit the Election Commission Office on Wednesday (November 14) with the demand of deferring the election schedule, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Leaders of the alliance are slated to go to EC Bhaban at 12pm on Wednesday (Nov 14). 

“We’re going to the EC with the demand of deferring voting,” Mirza Fakhrul said adding that EC is not eager to hold a fair election.

Besides, Oikyafront leaders will also sit with the editors of print media and electronic media, he added.

Jatiya Oikyafront was formed on Oct 13.        

Jatiya Oikyafront includes Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, ASM Abdur Rab's Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Mahmudur Rahman Manna's Nagorik Oikya, Bangabir Kader Siddique-led Krishak Sramik Janata League, and BNP

Kader Siddique joined the alliance on Nov 5.

The alliance was formed with the demands of a national election under a neutral government after dissolving the current parliament and release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

The alliance has held rallies in Sylhet, Dhaka, Chattogram, and Rajshahi.
