DHAKA: Two BNP nomination papers were bought for party Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s two daughters-in-law to contest the 11th parliamentary elections.
Three nomination papers were bought for Khaleda Zia on behalf of the party- 2 for Bogura districts and the other for Feni district.
Of the 3 nomination forms, 2 will be given for BNP Senior Vice-chairman Tarique Rahman’s wife Dr Jobaida Rahman, and Sharmila Rahman Sithi, wife of Khaleda Zia’s deceased younger son Arafat Rahman Koko, according to a confidential source of BNP.
Two of them- Dr Jobaida Rahman, and Sharmila Rahman Sithi are now living in London. It is not confirmed yet if they will return to Bangladesh before elections.
However, the chance of their return to Bangladesh is very slim, according to a London source.
“It depends on the decision of party’s senior leaders. I’m not knowledge about it,” Shayrul kabir Khan, BNP Chairperson’s press wing member told Banglanews.
Khaleda Zia has been serving her five years’ sentence in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case since February 8, 2018.
She is now imprisoned in city’s old central jail.
