DHAKA: BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has joined the board of interviewers through videoconferencing from London, to interview the party’s nomination seekers for the 11th parliamentary election. 

As BNP has launched the interview process at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s political office in Gulshan Sunday (Nov 18), several of its aspirants told banglanews that Tarique himself has controlled the whole part. 

“Tarique Rahman is controlling the whole matter of nomination board, through video conference,” said Monzurul Islam, a nomination aspirant from Dinajpur constituency-1.

The interviewees were asked whether they could secure win or whether they agree to work in favor of the candidates picked by the party, said several sources from BNP. 

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Dr Moyeen Khan, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were present.

On the first day, nomination seekers from Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions are facing the interviews.

Final list of the nominated candidates are expected to reveal on Dec 8.
