DHAKA: Ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said many of the BNP leaders are eagerly waiting for a green signal to join AL.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remarks at an immediate press conference held in AL president’s Dhanmondi political office on Wednesday noon (Nov 21).

He said, “If our leader even gives a little bit of green signal, a huge amount of BNP men will crowd the streets to join AL and BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir won’t be able to do anything to stop it.”

In response to a question whether there is any party shifting surprise prior to the general election, he said many have already reshuffled their position but we haven’t got our leader’s permission despite the fact that many of BNP is interested.
