DHAKA: A Dhaka court sent BNP Executive Committee Member Nipun Roy Chowdhury and six others to jail following five days' remand in cases filed over clash, arson and attack on police in city’s Nayapaltan.
Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam gave the order on Thursday (November 22).
The clash took place during sale of BNP nomination forms on November 14.
Nipun Roy Chowdhury was arrested in city November 15.
On November 16, a Dhaka Court placed seven accused on five days' remand.
The six BNP leaders and activists are- Arifa Sultana Ruma, Younus Mirdha, Abul Hashim Sabuj, Amir Hossain, Mohosin and Mamun Or Rashid.
