CHANDPUR: A district court has sent former state minister of Education and BNP’s International Affairs Secretary ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon to jail showing him arrested in three cases.

Chandpur additional senior chief judicial magistrate Md. Shafiul Azam passed the order on Friday (Nov 23).
 
On early Friday (Nov 23), a team of Chandpur district Detective Branch (DB) police arrested BNP’s International Affairs Secretary ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon in a drive carried out at a residence in Chateshwari Road in Chwalkbazar of Chittagong city.

Milon’s lawyer Kamrul Islam told Banglanews that trial of 26 cases against Milon is underway in court. Of the 26 cases, arrest warrant was issued in 17 cases. The court sent him to jail showing him arrested in 3 cases. Milon will be produced before Chandpur additional district and sessions judge’s court on Nov 25 for the hearing of other cases.

He also said that Milon secured bail in all the cases but failed to appear in court for later hearings as he was abroad. That is why court issued warrant against him in 17 cases.
