DHAKA: Awami League joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak and former land minister Rezaul Karim Hira failed to get party nomination for contesting in the 11th national elections.
The ruling party has been distributing nomination letters to its candidates since Sunday (Nov 25) morning.
The party has picked fresher replacing stalwarts in several seats, in context of popularity and acceptability to the local voting groups.
Sadek Khan and Engr Mozaffar confirmed their tickets from Dhaka-13 and Jamalpur-5 constituencies respectively.
However, Nanak represented Dhaka-13 and Hira Jamalpur-5 from Awami League, at the 10th parliament.
