GOPALGANJ: Leaders and activists of Awami League have submitted the nomination paper of their party chief Sheikh Hasina, on behalf of her, to contest in the national polls from Gopalganj-3 constituency.

The paper was submitted to the Returning officer and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nakib Hossain Tarafder of Tungipara, around 11am Tuesday (Nov 27).

The partymen offered a ziarat at the mazar of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mijibur Rahman.

Several leaders of central Awami league, advisory body and district unit were present there.

However, Awami League President also Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will contest in the 11th parliamentary elections from 2 constituencies—Gopalganj-3 and Rangpur-6.
