DHAKA: BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has lambasted at Attorney General Mahbubey Alam for the latter’s remarks on BNP chief Khaleda Zia that she is disqualified to contest in the national elections.

“Khaleda Zia has pleaded for postponement of her sentence in the appeal she filed against the sentence in false and fabricated case. The court hasn’t yet delivered the judgment. So, how he (Mahbubey Alam) can say Khaleda Zia is ineligible for contesting polls,” he said. 

Rizvi was addressing media at BNP’s central party office in Nayapaltan, Wednesday (Nov 28).

“You are an Awami League leader. You have collected nomination form for boat symbol for the upcoming elections. So, how you can hold the post of a state’s chief law officer?,” Rizvi threw questions indicating the attorney general.
