DHAKA: Demanding closure of arrest in ‘fictitious cases,’ BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said there is no fair atmosphere for elections.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also said the government and the Election Commission would have to shoulder liability if arrest and filling of fictitious cases against its leaders and activities were not stopped.
The senior BNP leader came up with the demand at party Chairperson’s political office in city’s Gulshan area on Friday (November 30).
Earlier, BNP submitted a list of fictitious cases filed against its leaders and activists to Prime Minister’s Office on November 13.
