Nomination-deprived AL leaders to observe polls Obaidul Quader briefs reporters

DHAKA: A team of Awami League leaders, who didn’t get nominations, will act as observers in the 11th parliamentary elections.

Party General Secretary Obaidul Quader made the disclosure at a press briefing Saturday (Dec 1).

The team, led by Jahangir Kabir Nanak, comprises of several central leaders, a joint general secretary and three organizing secretaries.  

Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretaries Ahmad Hossain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, BM Mozammel Haque, Information & Research Secretary Afzal Hossain, Science & Technology Affairs Abdus Sattar and Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua are among them.

“A team led by Jahangir Kabir Nanak will work all the time. They aren’t doing elections. They have been kept outside of elections,” Quader said.
