TANGAIL: BNP nominated candidate for Tangail-2 constituency Sultan Salahuddin Tuku is sued for various charges in as many as 139 cases.
The matter has been revealed while analyzing his affidavit submitted to the Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Tangail.
The cases were filed from 2012 to Feb, 2018.
Of them, 82 are under trial and 57 under investigation.
Tuku, secretary general of Jubo Dal’s central committee, was accused in the cases under various act including of explosives, anti-terrorism, speedy trial and penal code.
“The cases have been filed so that he cannot take part in anti-government movement,” Tuku’s brother Shamsul Alam Tofa told banglanews.
Tuku, however, landed in jail in May this year.
