GOPALGANJ: President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Tungipara of Gopalganj on Sunday (Mar 17).
They will pay homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through placing wreaths at his mausoleum on the occasion of his 99th birth anniversary and the National Children's Day.
Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman disclosed the development on Thursday (Mar 14).
President and Prime Minister will place wreaths at Bangabandhu's mausoleum premises in Tungipara of Gopalganj in the morning.
A smartly turned out contingent drawn from the three forces will give a guard of honor to the President and the premier.
They will offer Fateha and special munajat there seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu and other family members brutally killed on the fateful night on August 15 in 1975.
The President will sign the visitor's book kept on the mausoleum premises.
The birthday of Bangabandhu is being observed across the country as the National Children's Day.
PM Sheikh Hasina will address a children's rally, discussion meeting and cultural function at mausoleum premises as chief guest.
The Prime Minister will participate in the various programmes arranged by Jatiya Grantha Kendra and district administration.
According to district administration, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Dhaka for Tungipara by separate helicopters after 09:00am on the day.
